Of course, this is not an exact replica of the style, but just our interpretation. Astrid is blonde, has bangs, is wearing a brown leather type headband (rather than a colorful ribbon) and is actually an animated character…. with hair drawn by an artist. 😉 We did the best we could with what we have to work with, but cartoon hair can be tricky sometimes.
In the photo we were using as a reference for this hairstyle (which can be found on our facebook page and instagram account) the braid on top of her head appears to be knotted, or had hair wrapping around the braid. There are several ways you could go about creating a similar look. The lower side braid is also not a regular braid. You could use the technique we used in our video to create this messy, bohemian type braid… or you can use your own creativity to come up with your own variation.
